when searching for interesting surfaces to draw on, you might try coloring your own. this was made with paint pgment (dry), in orange and yellow. they were smeared onto the surface with paper towels.

the line work is done with charcoal, and the white is actually done with an eraser (kneaded), lifting the pigment from the paper.

this still life has approximately three hours of drawing time in it.
